ENGLISH LESSON PLAN

Warm up ( 8 min ) Presentation ( 10 min ) Practice ( 8 min ) Production ( 4 min )

1. Begin by asking pupils whether they have been to any storytelling sessions before.


2. Get them to talk about the sessions.




3. Get pupils to look at the introduction page in the textbook.




4. Talk about the categories of stories found at the bottom of the page.




5. Get pupils to add to the list, if they know more.


1. Get pupils to answer the first
questions on the page.


2. List pupils responses on the board.
The responses can be turned into a
chart ( to be used later ). It is
easier for them to see the kinds of
stories when they are written on
the board.


1. Get pupils to answer the
second question on the page.


2. Add their responses to the
existing list on the board.


3. Get pupils to work in pairs
for question 2.


4. Pupils tell their friends their
favourite story.

1. Ask a few pupils to tell their
favourite story to the class.
Encourage other pupils to ask
questions if they want to know
more about the stories.


2. Get pupils to group the
categories.


3. Get pupils to reproduce the
titles according to categories.


4. Put the cards on the board for
future reference.
